Welcome to summer in Charlottesville! Start your season on the right foot by visiting one of the most exciting cities for outdoor fun and incredible events. We invite you to come join us this weekend for these fun activities:

Friday, June 21:

  • For parents who want a few hours for date night, the Discovery Museum offers a date night drop-off from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  Children must be 3-10 in age, and pre-registration is required.
  • Hear some great music and help out a wonderful cause at the Southern as Black Music Excellence featuring Richelle Claiborne takes the stage. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Doors open at 6:30pm, show is at 8:30pm.
  • Another great benefit music show is happening at the Music Resource Center for Harli & The House of Jupiter Album Release. Show starts at 7pm.
  • For late night laughs, The Brewery Comedy Tour comes to North American Sake Brewery starting at 10pm.

Saturday, June 22:

  • Start your lunch with dessert! Free s’mores at LL Bean in Stonefield starting at 11am.
  • Take the family to the Jefferson Madison Regional Library from 2pm-4pm for a showing of Spiderman: Into the SpiderVerse. Bring the blankets. They’ll provide the popcorn.
  • The Central Virginia Blues Society is having a Blues Festival at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Afton. Music starts at 3pm, and there will be local food and beverages available.
  • Early Mountain Vineyard will have live music from noon-3pm and will celebration the Solstice Sundown from 6pm-10pm with dancing on the back lawn.
  • Charlottesville Parks and Rec and BamaWorks are hosting the Sounds of Summer, an evening of live music, food, and fun for the whole family at Tonsler Park from 6pm-8pm. Free food while supplies last.
  • The Connells are playing the Jefferson Theater, and tickets are still available. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm.

Sunday, June 23:

  • Little Critters Traveling Petting Zoo will be at Keswick Vineyards from noon-3pm. There’ll be food trucks and face painting, as well!
  • It’s Sunday Funday at Durty Nelly’s with Ken Farmer & the Authenticators starting at 4pm. There will even be a dance off, so I’m told.
  • Finish off the weekend with Travis Elliott at Rapture starting at 10pm.
