POLO AT KING FAMILY VINEYARDS

POLO AT KING FAMILY VINEYARDS

Every Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through the end of October, King Family Vineyards in Crozet comes alive with Roseland Polo. Set against the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, these matches blend sport, community, and classic Virginia charm.

When to Go:

  • Season: May 24 – late October (weather permitting)
  • Gates Open: 10:00 a.m.
  • Match Begins: 12:00 p.m.
  • Admission: Always free and open to the public

How to Enjoy Polo:

  • Tailgate on the Field: Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or chairs, and enjoy wine from the tasting room as the match unfolds.
  • Reserve a Space: Skip the crowds with a pre-booked 10×10 fieldside spot—available with or without a shaded tent setup. Perfect for groups, families, or special occasions.
  • Sip & Savor: Grab a bottle from the vineyard shop to enjoy while watching the game, or plan time for a tasting before the match begins.

Learn & Play:
Interested in trying polo yourself? The Roseland Polo School offers lessons year-round for both adults and kids. Beginners can sign up for the popular Intro to Polo Experience, which ends with a guided wine tasting at the King Family Vineyards tasting room.

Why Go:
Roseland Polo isn’t just about the game—it’s a Charlottesville summer tradition. Spend the afternoon outdoors, surrounded by friends, fine wine, and the rhythm of galloping horses. It’s one of the most picturesque and welcoming ways to experience Virginia’s wine country.
