First Night Virginia – Downtown Mall
This annual event started in 1982 and is the second oldest First Night in the country. The downtown mall will full of entertainers and kids’ activities, while event venues along the mall will host some of our most talented local musicians. This event is appropriate for all ages with the fun starting at 4pm.
Tom Tom’s Silent Disco – Old Metropolitan Hall
This party has all the hits of the 2010s, and you get to pick between hip hop, house, and pop with your silent disco headset. There will be two floors of dancing and a speakeasy cash bar. The quiet fun starts at 10pm.
Chamomile and Whiskey – Fry’s Spring Beach Club
Chamomile and Whiskey have been voted the ‘Best Band in Charlottesville’ by C-ville Weekly readers twice and for good reason. They are awesome musicians and they know how to throw a party. They will be joined at this festive event by Dropping Julia, Pantherburn, and other great bands. Tickets are on sale now and open to the public. Party starts at 7pm.
Oasix – IX Art Park
Join Virginia-based band The Chupacabras as they bring their blend of old-school surf rock mixed with funky flavors to this New Year’s Oasis. There will also be dancers from Fluidity Performance Troupe. The show starts at 8pm.
No BS! Brass Band – Jefferson Theater
There will be two bands joining the No BS! Brass Band at the Jefferson, Shagwuf and the Falsies. So, you get to party down with three amazing bands The doors open at 7:30pm, but you can also purchase VIP exclusive pre-party tickets to hang with the bands beforehand.
David Wax Museum – Southern Cafe and Music Hall
WNRN presents this husband and wife duo to town with a sound that blends Americana with blasts of brass and stringed instruments behind vocals and lyrics that connect us all. The doors open at 6:30pm, and there is a VIP package available at this show, as well.
Early Hours NYE – Random Row Brewing
Want to celebrate the ball dropping, but also want to get the kids to bed early? Then head to Random Row at 5pm, where you can catch the live countdown from London, and have the kiddos home by 8pm. Ticket includes a dinner buffet and a number of drink tickets. Kids under 5 eat free.
