Now and Zen

Serving up sushi since 2011, Now and Zen owner Tashi Soto has a well-earned reputation as one of the top Charlottesville sushi chefs around. If you have a big appetite, or want to share, try the dragon roll. It’s gorgeous and delicious!

Ten

Charlottesville’s poshest sushi spot, Ten on the Downtown Mall is a regular standby for date-nights and other intimate dinners. It’s also an ideal spot for late night drinks and light fare.

Tokyo Rose

Described by one local foodie as “solid hole-in-the-wall sushi,” Tokyo Rose has been serving up sushi for decades. It’s location on Ivy Road near the University of Virginia makes it a popular spot for students and tourists alike.

North American Sake Brewery

Come for the sake, stay for the sushi (and sashimi and seared tuna!) One of Charlottesville’s hippest spots, North American Sake Brewery is in the Ix Art Park. Sit inside or outside on the patio, and if you want to make an event of it, make a reservation at The Looking Glass interactive art museum, adjacent to the restaurant.
