GREAT TAKE-OUT FOR ROMANTIC DATE NIGHTS AT HOME

You don’t have to eat out to have a romantic dinner for two, and that doesn’t mean you have to cook either! Take-out from some of Charlottesville’s top restaurants brings the delicious dishes right to your home. And we say romance doesn’t have to mean fancy. From burgers to Moroccan gazpacho to salmon, you’ll find something here to help fuel your love!

Petit Pois:

You can’t go to Paris this winter, that’s true. But a dinner from Petit Pois can transport you there at least for one meal! Start with some soup, then go with a classic entree like the salmon, or venture out on a culinary adventure with skate wing.

Tavola

There’s something quintessentially romantic about rustic Italian, and Tavola never fails to deliver. Start your date night right with the antipasti misti and then finish filling up with pasta dishes like the pappardelle ragu (housemade pasta, pork and red wine ragu, with grana padano and basil).

Smoked Kitchen & Tap:

You want hearty romance? You’ll get it from Smoked Kitchen and Tap west of Charlottesville in Crozet. Mountain high nachos, burgers and fries, ribs and more make a perfect casual date-night dinner.

Timberwood Grill:

Fish and chips, steak frites topped with truffle cream sauce, and wild mushroom ravioli are just a few of the entrees from this beloved sports bar and grill north of Charlottesville at Forest Lakes. Sports lovers aren’t the only ones who’ll want to dig in!

Angelic’s Kitchen:

Sometimes cold weather calls out for comfort food, and Angelic’s Kitchen has you covered. Who can say no to fried chicken, collard greens and mac and cheese!

Mas Tapas:

The only hard part about a meal from Mas is deciding which small plates to order without arguing! Charlottesville Insider faves include papas bravas (lightly spicy Yukon Gold potatoes with Harissa, herbs, gray sea salt, and garlic aioli), bacon-wrapped dates and carne asada. Yum!

Boylan Heights:

Who says a romantic dinner has to be fancy fare? Sometimes a burger’s what the heart and stomach cry out for, and Boylan burgers are boss. Try the double trouble (two beef patties with American cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, sriracha mayo and fried egg). If you can both finish one, it must be love!

Hot Cakes:

A gourmet to-go menu is a great start for a romantic take-out dinner. An array of gluten free and vegan options include gazpacho salad and Moroccan vegetable ragu. Order early since Hot Cakes closes at 6!
