Glam Locations for Special Occasions

Mom’s 60th birthday. Your wedding anniversary or engagement party. These are special occasions that call for events in special places. Charlottesville is home to multiple full-service venues to help you pull off your celebration without a hitch!

Old Metropolitan Hall

Centrally located on the Downtown Mall, Old Met, as it’s known, is a hidden gem. The historic building dates to the early 20th century and features original tin ceiling tiles and other historical architectural features. The upstairs ballroom can accommodate up to 125, while the downstairs cellar and library room are perfect for more intimate events.

Common House

With eclectic original art covering the walls, various-sized spaces, a rooftop patio and a full kitchen on site, Common House is a top choice for cosmopolitan festivities. Its location on Market Street provides proximity to the Downtown Mall and puts it within walking distance of several high-end hotels.

Quirk Hotel

Come for the party, stay for the posh rooms! Walking in to the lobby of Quirk Hotel on West Main Street will have you feeling pretty in pink. Sleek and sophisticated, Quirk is home to The Pink Grouse restaurant as well as a glorious rooftop patio that provides nearly 360-degree views of Charlottesville and the mountains beyond.

The Vault

Another exquisite location for events on the Downtown Mall, the Vault is the embodiment of elegance. Located in the historic Bradbury building, The Vault is a collection of various spaces including the Vault Hall, which can host events up to 200 standing or 100 seated.

The Space Downtown

One block south of the Downtown Mall, The Space Downtown is exactly what you’d expect from two of Charlottesville’s most respected restaurateurs. Tim Burgess and Vincent Durquennes have decades of experience operating restaurants including Bizou and Bang!, and they ensure seamless operations at The Space for all types of upscale occasions.

C&O

From the moment you walk up to the gas lamps that flank the front door of the classic C&O restaurant, you know you’ve arrived somewhere special. Since the New York Times discovered this local gem more than 40 years ago, it’s been a perennial favorite for special event dinners, and a dedicated event space adjacent to the restaurant provides an ideal venue for private celebrations.
